Engine knocking or tapping noise
Here is the problem. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4dsT7IcMZsY
It wiggles side to side, and it tightens up when I tighten it, but it gets loose again and I can wiggle it again.

yea usually a knocking like that is a rod or in your case your rocker arm... try replacing the rocker arm and see if that fixes it.. if not I would pull ur rods out and get you a Haynes or Chiltons manual and check the specs in the book and compare yours to them. Any that are worn need to be replaced. I would do it before you throw a rod through the block or your rocker arm damages something inside the engine... After you replace whatever needs to be replaced get some Marvels Mystery oil... you can get it at autozone.. and start your car (after topping off your oil and putting the top half back together) take off your air filter hose from the motor... if your motor cuts out dont worry.. poor a little bit in the intake area, put the intake hose back on and restart your car(if it cut out) do this little by little till you use about half a bottle... It will not only clean all the gunk out from under your rods and lubricate all your seals and stuff inside the motor... you will notice a lot of smoke coming out of your exhaust its ok it normal. Once you finish putting the Marvels in tighten everything up and drive ur car around (try and get on a highway or somewhere you can go 55-75) till all the smoke stops... all the smoke is just the Mystery oil and gunk burning out...
I did this in my 2002 Chevy Prizm when it was knocking and it stopped it... cleaned out my lifters and rods and lubed em up really good and the knocking was gone

It does make sense that the rocker arm would be the problem. It has a cel with a missfire, and the sound of the rocker rattling is the same. Im guessing with the arm not moving right the valve wont open or close right which would cause the miss. Im not shure, but I heard a rod or a bearing wouldnt cause a miss. Gotta bear with me, im still learning.
lol its cool... I dont know a whole lot about engine things myself.. just basics and knocking isnt one of my strong points... only had it happen in 1 vehichle and my step dad told me about the marvels mystery oil..
