that is a lot of miles on an OEM trans.

Yes it is a ton of miles for an auto. It sounds like the bands(or clutch plates) inside the tranny are giving out, run that sucker as long as you can. Baby it, you probably get another 6 months to a year on it.

or just repair it now before a general overhaul turns into a full on replacement.
