Here's the best "old people" advice you're going to get on here, brace yourself, you ready for it, well here it comes: LEAVE YOUR CAR THE WAY IT CAME FROM THE FACTORY!!! There, you have it. There are a lot of reasons I made that statement, but the main reason is this, for every $1 you invest in the car, you will get less than $0.10 back on that dollar should you choose to sell the car as is. Should you sell the parts you'll get less than $0.60 back on every part bought. In short, they're a money trap. Sure it's OK to do small things, but to go to the extent some people want to is complete insanity, especially if it's your one and only car. Like stated, save your money, invest it into something more worth while, and down the road, get something that better suits your needs and wants. That's what I'm currently doing, Selena is sitting dead, and Trinity is my reliable daily driver. When I finish school I'm trading in the Cobra for a new car (Mustang or not) but it will come the way I want it, but then again I'm nearing the point in my life where I'm looking to settle down, marriage is only a few years off, and so is a house (already own an acre) among other things.

yeah so true. when i joined this forum, i basically new next to nothing about cars. i know a ton more now, im at the point where im working on the car and using the site as a guide. the search feature can basically tell you anything you need to know if you do it right. stick around and i guarantee you will learn.

oh and dont let jthorn discourage lol, if you really arent worried about the money you get for selling your car then its cool. or just keep it, im planning on running mine til it dies many times

Yea, I understand it both ways. This was the very first car that I ever bought brand new in 99. I love her. Me and the wife have a sedan already that she drives and is in great shape, and I have a cheap winter ride. Coming home from college each year I was more and more dissapointed on how my car was being treated, but there was little that I could do cos I was in college and making little to nothing money-wise. Being out now for awhile and trying to maintain her the best I can, I just can't seem to let her go. Crazy? Maybe, being an 11-year old car now, but when I kick her into high gear on the bypass, I fall in love all over again. I am in no way, shape or form rich, but I do well for myself and my wife works as well. I really do understand that I will not get the money back out of her, and that plans do change in life, but I am hoping that this will not only give me asthetic satisfaction in the car again, but also that I will learn more about how to work on cars in the process.

yeah i mean it sounds like you are really attached to it and if its worth something to you then thats all that matters. the car really isnt worth much money now anyhow, its not life changing money if you have to sell it for some reason so if you want then just have fun with it
