I had a TransGo kit installed in my 4r70w when I had it rebuilt. It tightens and firms up your shifts. If you do this, go with the most mild set up, the kit will have like 3 "settings" they were like "taxi/police" "Street" and "Race"... or something like that (different diameters for a hole that is drilled) I went with the middle of the road option and with my 4.10's... 1st gear has no daily drivability at all.

If I could do it all over again, I'd skip the shift kit and just get a SCT Tuner and tweek shift points with that. And if your sig is right, your doing a 5-speed swap, so digging into the trans is unnecessary.Plus the tuner will still be beneficial after your trans swap.

Well i bought a 94 donor car with an engine and transmission. So hopefully we find the problem with the "no spark" on that engine then i will swap it.

Here's a page with some decent information on shift kits: Transmission Shift Kit Info.
Hope it helps someone.

The guy talking about having no first gear that would be because his gears are 4:10 nothing to do with shift kit. Shift kits are awesome they really firm up your shifts and some will even snap your neck. Much better than a tuner for improving transmission shifts since a tuner just increases line pressure?

I got to agree with this ^. If you have a automatic a shift kit is a great thing. A tuner plus a shift kit and you go from granny slip shifts to sledge hammer shifts.
