Default header gasket replacement

i am on here for my gf she has a 01 v6 premium and since she has bought it has made a ticking noise which the dealership said was a manifold leak how hard is it to replace the gaskets and do anyone know where i can find a write up on how to do it.?

are you sure its the gasket. Sounds like you have a cracked manifold instead.

Its not the gaskets that leaking, its the exhaust manifold itself. The Edge Mustangs have a problem where the condinsation from the A/C leaks down onto the manifold causing it to split due to the hight temps of the exhaust getting suddenly cooled by the cold condinsation water. You can reweld the manifold, or replace them with a set of 1994-1998's that dont have that problem.

I think they are just ****ty design/material. I figured it was the AC when my first manifold cracked (passenger side), but recently my drivers side cracked as well, nothing drips on it...

ok so is it a pretty easy fix i have accesses to a welder and have descent mechanical skills is it something that is easy for me to do? and if not how much is she looking at to weld a new one on?

you can do it yourself if you can weld. If not. get a set of 1994-1998 heagers as they do not suffer from the same failure that the 1999 and up do.

ok thanks for the insight. If i get bbk shorty headers will that also fix the problem? casue i'd rather just upgrade rather then replace?

BBK shorties...or any shorties suck and are a waste of time. Flow same as stock- not an upgrade.

Pull the manifold off, have it welded for $15 and put it back on.

or do it right and buy long tubes with a h pipe and MAC flowpath mufflers, done done done
