Had to take away my moms 1998 mustang convertible with 12,000 miles on it. Have run into a problem. In the mornings, cant get the gear shift out of park. Press the button and can move it. After it warms up, everything is fine.

any help out there?

 

On those, I've heard the cable actually starts to stick, and a new one makes it work. You can also try to spray some Kroil into the ends. I'd recommend removing the cable first, spraying the stuff, and letting it work it's way through.
