Cleaning engine bay
What can you do to make your engine bay look good as sh*t? Not asking just mods but also ways to clean it and what to paint and what color painting it looks best.
I actually spent the better part of saturday removing all accessories and the upper intake and leaning them with some engine degreaser and a wire brush. while I had the extra space in the bay I scrubbed the entire bay and the fluid reservoirs with a sponge. after I put everything back I doused the entire bay + engine with degreaser, let it sit for a good 15 minutes and hose it down. let it sit over night to make sure its dry then start her right up. before you start it up make sure your plug wires are still tight though because two of mine had come off from the washer. If you really want to get into detailing though, a can of silicone can work wonders on those radiator hoses and coolant lines, really brings that black shine out
I buy a few cans of foaming engine cleaner from wal-mart, grab a couple stiff brushes, cloths, soap and warm water.
I use the bags I got from Wal-Mart to mask off electrical parts like the Alt or pigtail or fuse box.
I also remove the ignition pack, plug wires and intake tube then mask the TB off before cleaning.
It takes me the better part of a day when I do this but it always comes out great.
To dry I use a shop vac and tape a section of garden hose on the end, switch it to blow and BLAST all the extra water off of the engine.
Then I put everything back together and go drive her for about an hour just to make sure any left over water evaporates.
