Default Replacing the hinges

ok so i just thought i would run this buy you guys, i called my local ford dealers where i bought my car, keep in mind i get 25% off all parts and labor, my door hinge has been on my list of things to fix, so i asked them how much it would cost to replace the drivers side hinges, they quoted me 400-450, to me that sounded absurd but idk maybe thats right because of the labor being you have to take the door off? but i looked up the parts and both hinges are a little less than 100 for both, they come in steel/aluminum? either way it wouldn't bother me if it wasn't painted since my car is metallic silver and you really wouldn't notice unless you looked at the hinges but idk why you would, but is this a job i should do myself or should i just shut up and shell out the $ and have it fixed? thanks guys

The pins and bushings are best to get at the dealer. It's the pivot for the hinges. Just do a google search and there are quite a few sites that will give you a good idea of how to do it.

Its rare that the entire hinge needs to be replaced, unless its damaged/bent. Open the door and push/pull it up and down and see if it moves at all. If it moves at the pins, then replace the pins and the bushings. If the entire hinge moves, then see if its just a loose bolt.

Replacing the pins is pretty much a universal process. It takes two people. One to hold the door up, and the other to play with the pins. Here is a good video:

I would just use a punch to remove them. The fox body hinges are the same, in theory, not exact same, so a fox tutorial should do fine.
