Default Timing Question

I was just wondering what a reasonable price was for the whole timing belt/water pump/thermostat. I live in CA if that matters. I have heard 500, I have heard 900. Anyone got any good priced places?

Timing belt would be custom made since we don't have one.
Water pump less than 100$
T-stat less than 10$

Water pump and thermo you can do yourself. I bought a new water pump from Napa for $1-120 something like that and it took me about an hour to change out. Only special tool you need is a power streering pump pulley tool (rent at autozone for $20, return it when done and you get your money back). Thermo requires no special tools, sits onto the motor and is easy to get to and replace.

these guys have tried to tell you twice that there is no timing belt.

your car has timing CHAINS, and an accessory BELT. timing belts are used mostly on imports.

timing chains are a little indepth. accessory belt is stupid easy and all you need is a 3/8" ratchet and be able to follow a picture of how the belt gets routed.

preventative. And theres things that dont sound exactly right. A whining noise that sounds like a belt, clicking, stuff lake that, I dont know. Like I said Im kind of new to stuff like this so I want to make sure my car can run to its potential.
