Exterior brake light problem, please help!
Alright so here's what happened:
I went to Wal-mart this evening around 8pm. Hadn't driven in about 24 hours. I go to Wal-mart no problem. However when I got out and was going inside I notice my brake lights on. I get back in.. fiddle with everything, including the brake pedal. No luck. I was in Wal-Mart about 30-45 minutes. Brake lights still on. I drive home (about a 10 minute drive) and when I'm in the drive way, parked, car off, lights off. Still on. Now it is winter in Missouri and around that time it was about 15degrees. Not sure if that has anything to do with it. Anyways, I checked on my car once more a couple hours later, 2 of the inner brake lights were out. I tried using my remote to unlock the doors, no go. I use the key, go inside, try to start my car. Another, no go. I checked before searching the internet to see if my lights were still on a bit later. No. Probably due to my battery dying.
Sorry this was a bit long but I figured more detail would help. I have read that on the newer models there might be some kind of a fluid leak or something? And I'm sure most of the people on this forum are guys so I will go ahead and tell you that I'm one of those girls that doesn't know much about cars in the first place so more detail the better.
Thanks for any help you can give!
P.S. It's also a manual, if that matters any.

My mother in law had the same problem in her 02 Taurus, if your brake fluid level is at a normal and all your fuses are good then try your brake light switch. It is located on the side of the brake pedal(not 100% sure if a manual has one but it probably will) its a cheap part, maybe $15 at any parts store.
Well my mom called the shop and I've been told it's either a brake switch, a multi something switch, or an electrical problem. Which will cost 60-70, 250, or a lot (respectively). After a battle with figuring out a way to get my battery charged again (jumping it with my mom's van didn't do the trick) I drove to a friend's house about 10 miles away and when i got there the light was on again. So I took it back to town and to the shop, turned off the car completely this time and the light went off again. I'll leave it up to the experts tomorrow. I'll come back and post when it's all fixed again.
