Default 94 Transmission issues

So I need some HELP!! For about 2 weeks or so my car has been making this sort of whining noise at lower RPMs, I wasnt sure what it was till last night and as my luck would have it its the transmission ..... My wife was driving home from work last night and she said it would accelerate past 1500 RPMs and she smelt a burning. When she got home I check the fluid and its clean and at the proper level so I took it for a test drive and it made the whining noise but shifted fine... anyone got any ideas or had a similar issue? Ran a search but didnt find anything

Well for future reference if anyone has the same issues, my whining is coming from my AC clutch so it needs to be replaced, and my transmission is working fine I have a vacuum problem somewhere... I know I need to get my downstream hose for my EGR valve replaced so we will start there

Thanks! And my universal Joints are shot, which would explain the clunking noise and hard shift into reverse from park and the hard shift in gears
