Default does zinc plating make any difference?

just bought my first mustang and the brakes need to be replaced, looking into getting cross drilled and slotted rotors, and came across some zinc plated ones. does zinc plating make any difference or is it strictly a cosmetic touch to keep the rotors shiny? also what should I expect to pay for a decent set of those rotors?

It's a plating, which means it's on the surface, the surface which is scraped away by using the brakes. Make your own conclusions about wether you think it's worth it. Cryo treating is the only thing worth doing.

It will keep the areas that are not touched by the pads from rusting. Where the pads touch the coating will be removed.

+1. PowerSlot rotors take care of it with black powdercoat.

Yes, the zink coating keeps everything looking original as time goes by. No rust.
