Default A/C hose help needed please!

I have an '01 3.8 and my a/c started blowing hot air. When I took it in, I was told the a/c manifold hose is leaking and they want to charge way too much to replace it. When I search for the part, I find no such thing as an a/c manifold hose, only discharge hoses and suction hoses. Any idea which I need?

There is no a/c manifold. There's an intake manifold, but if that's leaking then it wouldn't affect your a/c at all. You could just be low on freon. I would get a second opinion if I were you. Where did you take it anyway?

^This. You are probably low on R134 (we dont use Freon anymore) and just need a fill up. But you could also have a hose that is cracked and bleeding the cool air out of the system. There is a tool that will check for that IIRC, it puts blue dye into the cooling system to see if there are any leaks.

I took it to Brakes Plus. I asked them if they could still refill & recharge it but they said the hose was so bad it would just leak out right away.

OK. then you will have to replace the hose. Did they tell you which one is leaking? It shouldnt be to hard to replace.

No I called to clarify if they meant the discharge or suction hose and they are trying to tell me it's one hose that does it all. So I don't know what to replace.
