Default about to buy a pure fun beater had some questions on price, 96 V6

hey guys,
last time i visited this site was on 11-23-09 haha. Im thinking of buying my buddies manual (shifts good) 96 v6 with 170k+ (and its his daily) the car has plenty of dings and a decent dent on the passanger side door and on the rear driverside by the tail lights. this thing is a POS lol. any idea's of what you think you'd pay for a pure fun POS... im thinking like 700. i have no idea on what mustang values are...

700 sounds fair to me. There are plenty of Mustang V6 beaters in my area and although they ask $1000-$1500 for them, they rarely see that. Most of them settle for the $700-$1000 range when all is said and done.

oh yea, other stuff that is wrong with it is that the driver side door is practically falling apart, litterly. you dont even need a key to turn it on, you just turn the thing that you put the key in and it has a ripped to **** knock off driver side racing seat thats ripped to ****. I drove it today and its not bad, runs smooth and shifts nice. The pros are that it has cobra rims, nice ones and a ok exhaust (no idea what kind, neither does he) I plan on running it on a bottle till it blows if i can get it for 500-700 lol.

If that's the case then it won't be a DD for you for long!!! Not with a seemingly (falling apart) older V6 with high miles.

I see. Well I stand by what I said earlier....$700 is a fair price. IMO, it seems silly to buy "a fun beater" just to blow it up, but that's just me.

Can't find anything that cheap in CA. I paid $1600 for a 95 then blew the heads 5 months later.
