Default Loud muffler

I was Thinking of just buying a muffler and just weld it in the place of the stock one, but which muffler would give me a good loud exhuast tone

well it depends whether you just want to be loud and obnoxious or have a good sounding exhaust

I just swapped out my stock muffler with a Flowmaster 40 series muffler I scored off ebay for $57 shipped. Sounds good, not obnoxious or super loud but a good tone and far better then stock. Running it just dumped under the car so no exhaust tip

if your mufflers are at the rear bumper, howd u dump under car? i had the understanding there was no room under a s197 for the muffler anywhere else

also flowmasters don't sound so good on the 3.8

Welding in a muffler in place of the single stock muffler wont do much for the cost.

I should have clarified. I put the Flowmaster muffler on my 04 Mustang V6, not the 06 GT.

yeah i was confused by that lol, i personally didn't like the way the flowmaster sounded though. I'm partial to the MAC mufflers.
