Default transmission whining?

ok guys so i just got this stang. its a 94 5 speed with 140k on the dash. only reason i got is is cause i got a trade on it from my old miata, lol i know i know... a miata. im 6ft1 and 195lbs. i dont know even know how i i use to fit, but im miata had more mileage and it was smaller, plus i love stangs so i figured id get this one, problem is this tranny is whining??? not slipping nor grinding, but whining in every gear, goes away around 4k, but whining nonetheless??sounds like a supper charger whine. i checked fluid level it was good. also i think the input or thro-out bearings are worn cause i get a bearing noise, but its complete gone once the clutch is pressed in, can anyone help me out? if the tranny is bad, it wouldnt be that big a deal, ive done tranny work before and pulled my miata tranny a few times, now that thing is a pain to take out cause the car is soo tiny, but this car is bigger so it will be easier. but before i go assuming things any ideas?

Is the noise similar to the whining noise a transmission makes when you put it in a gear too low for the speed the car is moving? If so I would think it would be a syncronizer(sp) that is making the noise.

kinda, it sounds like a super charger whine, but the tranny shifts perfectly no grinds no nothing

from what ive heard its nothing worth a tranny drop, but if you do drop it, might as well change it. whenever you put the clutch in, does it stop whining?

well i hear noise when i start the car in nuetral, but then it goes away with the clutch in, but when the car is in gear and in motion it whines... only under load, not when im coasting, even if its in gear, its gotta be under load for the noise to occur

I have a similar sound right now, under the same conditions as yours....turns out it's the alternator bearing. It showed up after I changed the serpentine belt and the pressure of the new belt cause the "super charger whine" and caused the battery light to be on for a day or two.
