Door lock actuators work on the idea of reversing voltage. To unlock 12v is applied to one wire and gnd to the other. To lock the 12v and gnd are swapped. So actually you can do it either way as long as your consistent on both sides. If you aren't consistent then one will open when the other one closes.

Orange would mean orange wire
org/blk orange wire with black line
blue/blk blue wire with black line
