Question Hardcore V6 Exhaust?

Hey everyone, I own a 2000 Mustang V6 and want to replace my entire exhaust system. So far, I'm planning on MAC longtube headers and the MAC Prochamber H-Pipe, but I'm not sure where to go from there. I want the deepest, meanest, throatiest, and decently loud exhaust setup I can get. Been considering straight pipes leading to Borla ATAK axle-back mufflers, SLP Loudmouth I and II (Although I've heard 1 sounds ****ty with headers and mid-pipe) and as well as Borla Stingers. If someone can tell me which way to go or give a better suggestion, it'll be much appreciated!

"Axle back" is for the S197 cars... so won't work on yours. Many will tell you Flowmaster or Spin Tech mufflers. Just get on You Tube and listen... see what you like.

As stated you tube is your friend, just make sure you look up vids for the V6 and not the GT or Cobra. Won't sound the same.

Get a GT. (I hate that statement but Im tired of people coming in here looking for something they are not going to get). For a V6 LT's, X or H mids, and summit force pro's.

Like said above, look at as many youtube and streetfire vids that you can to make your choice.

I am fond of Borla myself but flowmast 40 2-chambers are right up there too but the sound varies depending on whats before them. I have heard some that sound great and some that sound like ***.

A thing to remember about Flowmaster, they rust badly and will pretty much eat away from the inside out which contributes to the horrible sound. This happens in just a couple of years. I have no clue why they are so expensive when they are so disposable.

Borla are stainless and wont rust away to nothing.

Like we said, listen to vids, but a stock V6 isn't going to make any type of "mean sound" it's going to sound like a V6, plain and simple.

Want a mean loud sound, go get a 96-04 GT, Mach 1, or Cobra. Remove the cats, and put flowmaster 40s, or SLP loud mouths on them.

That....or do an engine build on the V6, and spend several thousand to get a somewhat meaner sound out of it, but even cammed it sounds like a V6.

My V6 does have some mods. K&N intake, BBK Throttle Body, a 93 Octane tune, underdrive pulley system, and some other parts that won't really make a difference in the sound necessarily. Right now I have Borla True Dual side exhaust but sounds like a bunch of gerbels at idle. Might go with MAC considering I'll have the same brand LTs and O/R H-pipe. The V6 exhaust MAC makes sounds pretty legit too.

The MAC cat back is, in my opinion, the best sounding out there. I have shorties, a highflow catted x pipe and the Mac cat back and I think it's the best sounding v6 I've ever heard. Obviously I'm biased though the only thing I regret is not getting LT. I'll get those
Eventually!

Exhaust tone is just as personal an item as car color. There are lot of choices out there from raspy to rich. Check out YouTube for audio clips. I selected a Flowmaster 50 setup on my V6 because it sounded the closest to what I wanted.
