Default Mid pipe?or no Mid pipe?

That is the question. Im going tomrorow to consult an exhaust shop so i can put on some duals..im putting 40 series flowmasters with true dual pipes, but should i have them put in a mid pipe H or no mid pipe at all? Which would sound better?

Dude get an x-pipe. You'll get a great sound and will even get a little more hp with one.

Have the exhaust shop fabricate a midpipe from behind the stock cats. If you have the $$ by all means get an X-pipe, but it's not necessary for a dual exhaust conversion.

aite tomorrow is the day. Im going down to the exhaust shop at around 1 oclock and getting true duals with 40series flowmasters and chrome tips. He said including labor it will run me around $350-$400..is that a good deal? and also what size tips would look the best

yea thats a good price. I got 3" tips, i think they look the best.

Jesus, that's a real good deal for true cats with installation. Just make sure you check out the pipes to make sure they look good, that's almost too cheap, but hey if they look good run with it. 3" pipes do look good.

Yea, he told me over the phone its going to run me about $400..he said they usually use aluminized pipes..is that good? and he said theres an shop across the street where hes gonna get the 40 series flowmasters and whatever size tips i want.

To my knowledge aluminum is what most companies use on exhaust pipes, but still look them over for dents, craks, or anything that just doesn't look or feel right to you. Like I said if everything is good then get it done. Remember if you don't like the sound you can always put different mufflers on.

Aluminized is the best way to go, short of Stainless Steel. And it's a whole lot cheaper!
