Post Best Exhaust System?

Hi I'm looking for a true dual exhaust system for my 2000 v6 stang. I know everyone's heard this before but I want that deep throatness sound like a gt produces. I know it's impossible to get a sixer to sound like a v8 but I want the closest thing possible. I'm familiar with a few brands ex. Flowmaster, Borla, magniflow and pypes and have checked out various products but want to know your guys' opinions. Feel free to post links thanks.

Should really check out MAC products. To get a deep sound though you'll need long tube headers and not just a nice exhaust.

First off what is your budget? If you have no budget then you will want to get long tube headers, custom true duels, a good muffler (I tend to stay away from Flowmaster as they are overpriced and can rust) I like Summit Racings mufflers as thats what I have and they have a good sound to them, a good cam, and heads from SuperSix Motorsports.
Second does your state make you get smog/visual inspections?
If you state has smog then the long tubes are out and in some cases heads and a cam due to the sniff test. Here in cali I had to settle with just cat back true duels, Summit mufflers, GT over axle, and Magnaflow tips.

MAC does make some really nice products and they all fit together nicely. Im surprised at how happy I am now that I switched from flowmaster to MAC (with long tubes). I loved the flowmaster cat back but the deep sound I get from the MAC at low rpm is pretty nice, much better than the flowmaster. Only thing I dont like is from 3000-3500 rpm it is really raspy, but i plan on putting high flow cats on it so hopefully it get rid of the rasp.

Budget isn't too much of a concern, although I'd like too keep it under $800. I've also checked out MACS products and found some very nice long tube headers. Originally I was going for flowmaster 40s but may have changed my mind. As for YouTube, I've watched many videos on different setups but there are so many different companies to choose from I wanted to see some opinions on the forum. I don't want to jump on something to quick as there may be a better sounding system out there I may not know about.

Most likely each piece will run $250 - $500 per. Like long tubes then H pipe then muffler/cat system...just those three you are probably looking at near $1000.

Looking on MAC's site..

CAI - $180
Cat back - $300 - $500
H pipe - $200
Long tube headers - $400 - $500

Of course you can try eBay and used parts stores.
