Default wiring harness question

I've got a 95 mustang 3.8 and I put a 97 3.8 in it and most of the plugs were different so I changed the wiring harness to the 97 from the firewall to the motor only and now I can't get the coil pack to fire ! Any suggestions ? Is the wiring harness the problem ? Please help !

Recearch to see if theres any ECM differances. Between 95, and 97. How sure are you that the 97 3.8 is actully a 97.
Was the intake a single intake,or split port. I could be wrong but I thought 94_98 were the same. As well as 99_04..

There were two different spots on the harness were it plugged into the fire wall that had a extra prong on the 97 harness . The plugs for the sensors and single port ones were not the same either . But I changed all of it back to the 95 style and its running like new ! It just took the fuel injection a little while to start acting right , its been sitting up for a while ! But thanks for replying !

Is there any difference in the 99 and 00 3.8 engine harness? I have two 8 prong connectors on the 00 that I can't find a place for.

Did you replace the ECM as well? You'd need one out of a 97 or 98.
