Hell yeah thanks guys for all the help.... and its got stock gears but i have 4.10 on the way.

I would get a new posi unit. Most likely the one on the GT is well worn and a rebuild kit is almost the same price as a new unit. You wouldnt want to go thru the hassel of installing the 8.8 with new gears and a old posi unit. As for as the swap goes its really not that hard.

jack up the car
remove the brakes (including the brake lines)
remove the sway bar
loosen the shock bolts
remove the lower control arm bolts (watch out for the springs)
remove the upper rear control arm bolts
remove the drive shaft bolts (hardest part)
place jack under the 7.5 and wheel it out of the way, wheel 8.8 into spot and reverse the process

Well thats what I remember when I swapped out my rearend. Good luck!

Well I ordered a installtiong kit and new bearings and a tlok rebuild kit with carbon plates

So hopefully it runs like a champ
