Default Hit a deer...

I got myself a deer the other night with my 2000 v6 (175k miles), and insurance estimates are 4900 and 5200 to fix it, It is only body damage though and headlights, I've looked up the parts myself and can fix everything on my mustang and even get a tuner for 1500... Not sure how much insurance company will give me but they said they will probably total it....

My question is whether it would be worth my money to buy it back from the insurance company and fix it up myself. or just get another mustang. A lot of the 99-04's are about 3500+ while some of the older v6's are cheaper. is there much difference in the two?

Dude let the insurance company total the car out. You do not want a salvage title on the car because at that point it has nearly ZERO resell or trade in value.

Unless it holds some sort of emotional value let it go.

And I'm not talking about memories of working on it or whatever, I'm talking like my grandfather passed and left me mine, so I would prolly buy it back.

Even then, unless it's a classic it's not worth it.

Lucky for me I heard from the insurance company today and they said in michigan if it is 07 or older then it will not be a salvage title, just have to have proof that it was repaired before it is insured again, but its 3300 if i let them have it and 2800 if i keep it but all of the plastic pieces up front were broken and the rf fender and hood,

Not worth it, believe it or not you're looking at around $5000 to fix that back up.
