Default Speedometer help

Hey guys, I'm currently researching for an upcoming project car. I have a 1994 3.8l sn-95, and recently the transmission blew up. So i swapped in a t-5 from an 03 mustang and it runs great, however it does not have a speedo "harness clip is broken" - I was told that if i got a new harness it would give me a wrong reading due to the previous transmission was a mechanical sensor. So now im going to swap in a 5.0 from a 1987 mustang but im going to use the t-5 from the 03 mustang. So what im asking is, what products are there out in the world that will connect to the sensor thats in the t-5 (electrical sensor NOT mechanical) and give me a speedometer reading. Im prepared to buy new gauges anyway, and i was at a local autosupply shop and he had a black box for $419. that would connect to the sensor and convert it to a reading, all i would need is a new speedometer gauge to connect to this box (cant remember the name of it). If any of that made sense... than any feedback is greatly appreciated. Thank you guys in advance!

First off, the 99 up has an electronic speedo, the pre 99 is cable driven, second you will have clearance issues with the 87 5.0, it won't fit under the hood of the sn-95
