Default Speedometer Problem?

'95 V6 Automatic Mustang. Yesterday the speedometer quit working, went the all the way around and now just sits at 0. I was thinking it might be the speed sensor that goes in the transmission but the odometer is still working. Any idea where to start looking? Gauge? Sensor?

Also just had 3.73 gears installed and had purchased the purple 21 tooth speedometer adjustment gear. After the install (while it was still working) the speedometer was off. After looking into that further i noticed on American Muscle that the '95 has a different list of gears and the 21 tooth is for the 3.27. They don't list any for the 3.73, what do I need to correct the speedomether, once I get it working again?

Ok, fixed the Speedometer not working. Seems it was stuck on the wrong side of the peg somehow. But I am still in need of information on what gears I need to correct the speedometer.
