Default speed sensor problem

Hey guys, I after I changed out my rear main seal and oil pan gasket and put transmission back in. There was one slight problem when I pulled it out I forgot to disconnect the speed sensor wire it only yanked the wires out and was wondering is there any way to have it fixed by pushing the wires back in? After the test driving it the speedometer does not work and the tranny shifts funny wondering if it controls all of that, also the o/d light flashes.

Don't know about the wires but...

It does have an oil pan gasket ? I have heard it is simply a silicone seal for a 2000... ?

Did you have to drop a lot of things to get the oil pan out ???
