Default Where is my DPFE Sensor?

I've been having a rough idle for awhile now and my CEL has been on, but just got around to checking it.

The code said "excessive flow" from my EGR Valve.

I cleaned out the valve; no fix.

Then the people from AutoZone mentioned that Fords have a terrible history with DPFE Sensors and that that would be the next thing for me to fix.The only problem is, the DPFE sensor is not there.

I looked with the first AZ employee. He couldn't find it. Same with the second, then the third. We found some vacuum solenoid (don't remember what it was, sorry) on a clip next to where the DPFE should be, but the DPFE itself is not there.

They have the part in stock, but there's nothing there to replace.

I'll try and post a picture as soon as possible. Maybe it looks drastically different than the one at the store.

Default Here is a pic of the vacancy.

They said to the left of the EGR (where the black clip is) should be the resting place of my DPFE. About 4 people looked for a long time and resulted to saying "google it."

Yessir.

2002 V6.

From my experience, no 99-04 Mustang is the same. They all have some difference somewhere and it makes maintenance a nightmare.

Well all v6 are generally the same, all GT are generally same, etc etc. I'm gonna move this thread to the v6 section, im not even sure if the 3.8 used a dpfe sensor

Not the greatest pic there, but I am pretty sure its there, right by the "elbow" in your CAI. The easiest way to find it, is look for something about 1/2 the size of a pack of smokes, that has 2 vacuum lines going into it.

I know right where it is on the 94-98 3.8's, but not 100% on the 99-04's, but from the pic, Im pretty sure that is it.
