Default Noise coming from A/C Compressor

There is a noise coming from what sounds like the inside of the compressor. It's constantly occurring no matter what is on and off. It happens when the heat and A/C is on or off. Do you think the compressor is shot? The noise is not a rattling noise but sounds like something is moving inside the unit. Just posted a video of the sound, you can hear it as I get closer to the engine and right when I get out of the car. It sounds like maybe a rubbing of some sort but the best place I can pinpoint the sound to be at is the compressor.

Video is private.

But going by your description, the compressor is probably toast.

If it is happening when the compressor is both engaged and disengaged, I would check the compressor clutch first. Pull the belt and rotate the clutch pulley by hand with the engine off and listen to it. If the clutch spins and is rough and loud replace the clutch - it may not be a compressor, those compressors are pretty bullet-proof.

yeah, noise all the time regardless of whether the A/C is engaged or not is probably the clutch. if it were the compressor, it would only make noise when the compressor was engaged.

Alright I am 100% sure it's the clutch, here is a video the clutch makes when spun by hand.

Is it possible just to replace the bearing, or should I replace the entire clutch?

Yes, you can just replace the bearing (~$40) or you can replace the whole clutch and coil for ~$70 (Rockauto cheapo clutch and coil). Since you've got to pull the clutch off to replace the bearing, you might as well replace all. But, it comes down to what fits your budget and how much time you have.
