Default 17" wheels/tires for a 2002

My son has a 2002 Mustang with the stock 16" wheels/tires. I'd like to upgrade them to 17". I've found some on craigslist from 2005+ Mustangs. Is this a simple swap? If not, what do I need to do to put on 17" tires?

Nothing, the 05+ wheels will bolt right on. The offsets are different so they wont sit the same in the wheel wells but they will fit.

What he said- they will fit fine. On the fronts they MAy rub the swaybar a bit at full lock. Get a 1-1.25" hubcentric spacer on the rear.

Also- make sure he knows his speedo will read slow! If it says 70, he is doing about 75.

Speedo depends on thet tire size not wheel. just make sure the outside diameter of the tires stays close to what was original.

True- im assuming most wheels they find are takeoffs with tires, though

I have a similar question. I Own a 2004 6 convertible MUstang. I'd like to know if I can use rims fron a 2012 mustang on my 2004 and what I need to do to make it work.

Thanks

94-16 mustang wheels, regardless of trim (v6, GT, Mach1...) are all interchangeable depending on what size brakes you have. The only difference is the offset which will change how flush it is with the fenders.

Well I did buy a full set of 17" rims off of a 2012. They appear perfect with no scrapes or damage. Hopefully by mid April our weather will be much dryer and I can get it on the road with new rims and tires...WOOT

Thank you for the help.
