im sick of getting pulled over all the time for speeding. I ve decided that i need to buy a radar detector... Do u guys know which ones are good? Any reconmendation? what should i look for in a radar. thanks a lot

yeah ain't that the truth. probably about 100 bucks should get you a pretty good one.

 

With radar detectors, you really do get what you pay for.

 

My advice is don't buy it. See police officers can tell if you have a radar detector or not, so if lets say your going 75 and a cop tags you from under a brige, usually, like 96% of the time, they'll let you go, but if they see or pickup your radar detector, then they'll probably send out a unit and you'll get ticketed again. My dad, and my cousin had this happen to them, my dad got pulled over just because he had one, and my cousin got pulled over going 75 one time and again for 78, now when my dad took out the detector, lord and behold, no more tickets. So if you really don't want anymore tickets then just quit speeding. Theirs no need to go more than 5 mile an hour over the speed limmit anyway. Its not only dangers to your life, but others to, and in the long run you will kill your pocketbook, due to insurence raises, and tickets.

 

Get a valentine 1, dont waste your money on anything else.

heheh funny stuff, i ve been trying to go slower everytime but its not happening. I usually dont drive in the HW, most of the time in the city and thats where i get pulled over. Those ****ing cops that drive motorcycles i cant see their asses. Thanks for the posts anyway...

 

Yeah I'm about to get one. They are hands down the best, cost alot, but they are really good.

 

I've used the Escort Passport and it has worked well. I have it hard wired up so that it turns on and off with the ignition. Remember, that laser is hard to beat. Once it comes up on your detector, most likely the cop has already gotten your speed. I have the newest X50 for sale on my site if you are interested. Let me know and I'll save you some money.
