thinking of buying advice
I am looking at buying a early 2000's model.
What do I look for if there is anything that is problem prone.
I want a v6 and a convertible. I have found them for 3-4K in my area. both of these are clean cars and look well taken care of with new tops on them both are white
The first one is a 2000 with 130K and automatic, cloth inside.
The second is 2001 5speed, with 200K, all leather, and has the 40th anniverary package, which has me confused.... that should be 2004?
Any help would be great This will be my daily car
I could not find a section for this, so if there is one point me there please...
Thanks

go with the 5speed if it's properly maintained, the v6 auto doesn't have that oomph in it and the shifting points imo is not great. somebody also just slapped in a 2004 badge on it which means the owner probably knows what he's doing.

think about it, who would spend the time to slap in a 40th anniversary badge unless he's bored and can't think of anything to customize the car?
the owner pretty much just doesn't drive it going from pt A to pt B.
i've bought cars with lower mileage and that doesn't guarantee that they are well maintained and problem-free, they have more issues with my older and high mileage cars. of course a well maintained low mileage car is desirable.

Agreed. My 40th Anniversary V6 in the last week alone, I've had to replace the shocks and struts, exhaust, and rebuild the rear brakes. The previous owner beat the hell out of all of them. Just because she looks good, doesn't mean thats the case. Of course that said, I'm loving my car more and more now that I replaced the worn parts and upgraded to a GT exhaust lol.
