Clueless, help!
I know this is an old post but I'm grasping at straws here. Bought a 98 mustang about 5 months ago. Had trouble with the anti theft system a few days ago, turns out it was rewired all crazy and the chip fell out (it just hangs inside the black ring in the ignition). The car was previously rewired with a push button start so I don't have a chip key. My son drove the car to the store and back yesterday, when he got home he couldn't get the key out of the ignition. It's stuck in the on position. If I turn it forward a little more it'll shut the car off. But it won't go back for me to get the key out. Car starts fine. Tried everything I have read here and the rest of the internet! New lock cylinder and it still won't budge. Could it be the actuator? Or maybe a wiring issue??
