Default Ordered rims, tire question

OK, I ordered 17x9's yesterday. I got the cheapest tires I could find: Hancook (I think) 275_40_17? They said that was the size the cobra's came with. But my question is is will they be the same overall size as my V6's 16" wheels? I think it has 225's but I'm not sure bout the sidewall.

for my 17x9's i am getting 255/45/17, and those will be about the same height as stock tires.

I think the 275/40 have smaller sidewall.

why did you get the cheapest tires? I hope it isn't the "because I can't afford other ones" reason....you should have saved, waited and then bought the proper ones.

Well it's not like I have enough power in my stang that I'm gonna lose traction if I don't get the best gripping tires. Plus, I don't go to the track so why not get the cheapest?????

yeah 40 is just a bit smaller sidewall, but your tires are going to be quite a bit wider than mine, but they will look real nice.

you should have gotten michelen piolet sports, if there not the same size you just need a diablo to retune the tire size

275-40-17 size tires will be 25.66" tall. Can you go check your sidewall height?

I can figure out how tall your 225-xx-16s will be, I'd imagine they're 55 series (since that's the stock size on V6s) which would mean the entire combination you have now is 25.74" tall, which would actually make the 275-17s shorter by .08 inches.
