Default Radio/Control Center Bezel

First time posting, been reading the forums for a couple years now, sorry if this is in the wrong place.
Ive had my 03' Mustang v6 Auto for about 3 years now and havent gotten around to replacing my broken Radio Bezel because when I look for it its about $150 for a new one. However, the older ones for like the 96' that dont have the 3 holes at the bottom are cheaper.
So the question is, other than the 3 holes at the bottom is there a major difference stopping me from putting in the older version?
Thank you for your time, Sigmoid
