Default Constant Control Relay Module

I have a 1994 V6 Mustang. Yesterday, I noticed that the radiator fan was running on the car, even though the car has been off for about a week. I then noticed when I would disconnect the battery and reconnect it the fuel pump would run for a few minutes as well.

After some research, all signs pointed to the CCRM (Constant Control Relay Module). So, I removed it to inspect and, and there was an electrical component burning smell.

I took it apart (I had to drill out some rivets), and nothing looked burned on the inside, but the smell was certainly there. I tested the relays with my multimeter and the measured at about 88ohms, which from my understanding means they are good.

The only thing I could see odd was a small capacitor. I restore vintage computers from the 90s and it is not uncommon for the capacitors to go bad and need to be replaced. I tested the capacitor, and it looks bad, in fact my meter did not even detect it which is very unusual. I am waiting for the capacitor to come.

For my question, I know I need a specific CCRM for 1994 to 1998, however will the GT one work in the V6? I think the biggest difference is that the GT one has an extra relay for the hi and low speeds for the radiator fan. Does anyone have experience with this?

I'm pretty sure the v6 and v8 ones are different, that being said I've used one from a ford Taurus in my v8 while i was waiting for a new proper 94 gt one to arrive and it worked fine so there may be other car models out there that you can use in a pinch (found the Taurus one at a wrecker and used it for a few weeks)
