I want to change my transmission from an auto to standard. What wld yall do? or be easier? pay for it or get new car with standard tranny? thanx

Depending on your milage, I'd pay to get a manual. To install a standard you will have to get, of course, a standard transmission, make sure it come complete with a flywheel, clutch, clutch cables, and of course, a shifter. You will have to remove your stock shifter, not sure on everything that goes with that, and get a professional to install the tranny. You may also have to get a hole cut in the firewall for the clutch, and you may have to get a smaller brake pedal. You will also need to get your ecu retuned. There may be more to it, but this is all I can think of.

instead of spending all the money for that stuff just add some performance to your auto tranny and it should be really good. gears and a tuner chip will do the trick.

Actually it helps, but the auto will still be slower than a standard, the only way to fix the problem is to, I think, get a 2500 rpm torque converter, and then have a professional retune your ecu.
