Default Brake light comes on while accelerating from a stop.

Hey Ive noticed something in the past few weeks with my car, but it never really concerned me. Whenever I acelerate from a stop, my BRAKE! light will come on for like 2 secs and then go off...does anyone know why this is happening, or is it just some type of fluke?

Check brake fluid level. Make sure it's to the fill line.

^ I had the EXACT same problem earlier this year and it was my brakes. I believe it was the back ones, but I don't really remember. The rotors were down to the metal almost and I was in desperate need to replace them.

I would definitely take it to the shop incase yours is the same problem.

hmm my front rotors are fine, i just changed the brake pads about 5 months ago so that shouldntbe a problem but maybe it could be the back ones since i never check those....thanks rock

How many miles are on your car? I've heard that the back brakes should last about 50k miles, and mine was at about 44-45k when I got mine changed out. It's probably about time for them to be changed, and although your back brakes don't work as much as the front brakes to stop the car, its probably best to check it out.

Let us know what happens with it.

If its not the rear brakes, possible it could be your E- brake cables. If you cant find the problem, definantly take it to a mechanic. That is a warning of some sort that should not be ignored.
