Default Coolant

Hey guys. I just bought my Stang 2 weeks ago and the coolant is low. What is the best coolant to use as far as mixture and brand go?

use distilled water, then mix it with what ever brand you want because there all the same. (not literally). Make sure you dont need a coolant flush before you do that too. Take it to meineke and ask them if you need a coolant flush.

I don't know what year your Stang is, but newer ones require Ford's new coolant. It's light Yellow. If you have this, do not, I repeat DO NOT add the green or red. Hell, don't go near the red! Your local Ford dealer carries it, and it's not that expensive. You want either 60-40(60% coolant) or 50-50 depending on your winter temps.

by new you mean 05 and up, right? because I have a 2000, and my coolant has the green mixture.

Not necessarily. Mine is an 03, and has yellow coolant. Safest bet is to use the same color as is in it. If you do a coolant flush, use whatever. Unless it's still under warranty. Point is, it's not a good idea to mix the coolants.

I have an 04. I believe it is green, but the expansion tank is pretty low. Also I live in Florida, so should I go with the 50-50 mix?
