From what I read here, it's PROBABLY the battery. Best bet is to get it checked. AutoZone, PepBoys, CSK, most of the chains will test it for free.
How long do you have to crank it til it does start? Does the engine die after you do get it started?

I highly recommend staying away from Exide Batteries. We used to sell them at CSK, and I had a hell of a lot of returns. Delco, Motocraft, and Interstate are good. But when I need a new one, I'm going for an Optima Gel Cell.

its the battery. after you start the car with the battery, all the electrical units are charged by the alternator. and if the battery is totally dead then it more than likely wont charge. it sounds like you had the same problem i had. the battery just decided to **** out on me and i couldnt start it unless it was jumped, but once it was jumped i could run it all day as long as i didnt have to restart it. i took it straight down to Advance Auto Parts, and for $70 they replaced the battery for me in the parking lot (the battery was $80 and they usually give you $10 back if you give them your dead battery).
