Default Hood Problem

MY first post

Just bought a 1999 V6 Convertible and the hood doesn't seem to close properly. It's kinda dark in my underground parking and because of that I was not able to solve the problem earlier, so I found no harm in posting here. Is this a common problem, or is there something special I need to do besides letting it drop from about 12 inches and letting gravity do its thing?

Thanks.

Latch might be a little out of adjustment...
I drop mine from about 6 or 7" and it shuts fine.

If I can't get it to close tomorrow I'll take it back and pick up a Sprint convertible or something.

Just kidding.

According to Consumer Reports, 1999 is a good reliable model year for Mustangs. I was thinking reliability as criteria #1, convertible #1A, performance #2. Just getting my feet wet in the Mustang world. Sure is a sweet looking car... Can anyone run down any common problems that I should look out for? Actually scratch that, I'll do a search on the forum first
