Yea a cam is good, but is almost pointless unless you have a high flow intake (cai, ported upper and lower intake, ported heads).
i copied that from another thread in here, thanks to Jthorn for the comment. maybe thatll help you out with your cam decision, someone else can tell you how it works/what it is, i dont explain stuff very well.

Mustang tuning sells the gt take off adaptor kit. Just look underneath exhaust, then click V6 exhaust. The adaptor welds onto you stock cats and the GT cut offs weld onto the adaptor.

Is there another way because that adaptor is over $100 bucks after shipping.
just take it to an exhaust/muffler shop. most people here that have done that have spent nomore than $100 for them to fabricate it up with true duals. the X or H won't give you any real HP gains. the 6 doesn't benefit from the X and H like a GT does because of the firiing order. the midpipe is strictly for sound. true duals with flowmasters sounds best on a 6.

get some flowmaster knock off muffs if you're on a budget though. they're half the price, or even less than regular flows. same exact muffler.

if you remove the cats without replacing the midpipe, you will lose power over stock. they key is to get good flow, not just a big open space. if that were the case, no pipes at all would be best, which they are not.
