Default upgrades

Hey guys, i have been a mustang lover forever and just got a 2004 3.8 auto v6 conv, but im new to the mod thing. I have a Cold air intake put on and thats all. i want to make it alot louder and i saw a 2000 gt take off and was wondering if that would be good to put on my car. also i talked to someone who told me he could clear out my cats to improve sound, gas, and hp for $100 bucks. was wondering if that was true and if thats a good price. i have been looking on the post and everyone is talking about a "cam" i was wondering what that is and about how much they should be. im kinda on a budget with school and the living on my own thing @ age 19. thanks guys

such a waste. $100 to remove cats? you're not going to notice any performance difference. probably like 2HP. get the GT take offs and get some flowmaster or flowmaster knock off mufflers. an exhaust shop will put it on your car for usually well under $100. that'll give your 6 the same tone, deepness and loudness as about a stock GT. that's as good as you're going to get on a 6 without it sounding ricey and annoying.

elwood is selling his gt take off exhaust on ebay, that aint a bad deal at all man, it would definetly make a difference in sound if you got some new mufflers with it too.

hell yeah it is. also you could get a high flow X- or H-pipe, it will sound better and add a few more hp.

im not really getting it for the hp gains, im not going to race my car or anything just wanna get a deeper tone with out spending too much money. i got the 6 instead of the 8 because the insurance was like an extra 150 bucks a month. the guy told me it would sound bad if he took off the cats but since hes just taking the stuff out of them that it would give it a better sound.

Mustang tuning sells the gt take off adaptor kit. Just look underneath exhaust, then click V6 exhaust. The adaptor welds onto you stock cats and the GT cut offs weld onto the adaptor.

Is there another way because that adaptor is over $100 bucks after shipping.
