I think that it is probably coolant that sprayed out buring off. It will smell for awhile. But I'd check it now every other day until it stopped or I replaced the hose. What about your coolant recovery system was it full?
This is the second time the hose has blown off. And it's only like 1 or so years old...Somethiung else is going on. My bet is a pressure build up due to a failing older rad cap...but that's just my opinion...

Ok I will swing by PepBoys and pick up a new cap for the radiator. I may take off the fan now and try to blot dry anything that may still be "wet" but it shouldn't....its been sitting for 2 days as well. Pray for my car guys

Edit...

I looked and it is spraying out of the black part right where the cooling fan goes infront of the radiator

Radiator is TOAST.. I forgot to tell you. When you put in the Alumaseal, run the car with the cap off until it warms up. You may get some back flow out of the rad, so keep some coolant ready to keep it topped off. Then put the cap on, and run it for like 15 munutes. That should seal it, IF it CAN be sealed....

Just get a new one...seriously don't do a mickey mouse job on it and take a risk to mess something else up with that.

Harvey,

i ran the car, sealed the hoses better, and a new radiator cap...ran it for 20 min.....for 2 sessions.....4 hrs apart and it was fine, smoke stopped but I see exhaust leaks bc of the CRAPPY MAC Headers......time for my JBA CHROME PLATED ONES hehe

Sounds good Eric..just to be on the safe side, double check the hose every other week...Just til you're sure it won't pop off again.
