Alumaseal..It works just like the white blood cells in your blood stream. It finds the leak and clots. BUT! 2 things. ONLY use 1 tube, and it is a TEMPORARY fix.

Harvey,

Would you believe my car overheated...AGAIN!!! Such a bad story man..driving the 1hr home from work..and I see my gauge at 220 degrees!! I was in the fast lane so I had to pull to the shoulder fast....popped the hood and the top radiator hose was COMPELTELY loose...I have NO IDEA how it happened as the last time it was loose I tightened it SUPER HARD that it wouldn't budge, so that got me worried.

Obviously all the coolant was out and I only had 1/2 bottle of coolant left damn it!!! During traffic hour! Got the Metro Freeway Patrol to see me and filled it with water and turned it on and it just smoked from behind the fan on the radiator...just kept going but the temperature was down. ANyhow the guy was going to take me out on the first exit as they are suppossed to...but we got to talking and he was super cool and actually took me to my fiancee's parents house (about 5 blocks away) and helped me park the car! Pulled it in....and this is already like 8pm so I couldn't see ****!

I ran the car.....full of coolant, hoses all on....and the temperate stayed at 190 degrees the ENTIRE TIME...only issue was the smoke still kept coming out...but it didn't smell like coolant, just like steam so I am thinking it can either be a small leak on the radiator OR it could be the coolant that got all over the radiator and it just burning off.....thoughts?

You think its the hose? Its a COOLFLEX HOSE (not rubber) so its SUPER CLAMPED on there...has TWO clamps onto the radiator....?

Didn't you double clamp it before?
Either way, if you don't change the hose, check it every couple of weeks til you are DAMNED sure it's not gonna blow. You know, that reminds me...how's the rad cap. If it doesn't let pressure out, it's gonna build til something gives way...might want to change the cap. Get a nice lever type safety cap...

The cap I have had is the regular stock one and I just have a UPR cap on top of it...NEVER had an issue with the cap before as its the stock one that locks on pretty nicely and has never come off etc

Don't remember If I double clamped it with the stock rubber hose...but I don't think so..just had ONE before.

Since you're not showing it anymore, don't take chances. Change the cap..it's cheap, but you know that. How old is the cap? 3, 4 years?? time to change...My bet is it's not working properly...Why else would the hose blow off? Must be too much pressure..

I think that it is probably coolant that sprayed out buring off. It will smell for awhile. But I'd check it now every other day until it stopped or I replaced the hose. What about your coolant recovery system was it full?
