M<aybe Lts add only 8 Hp, but they have to add more low end torque and that's waht a V6 needs -- its sort of "displacementally challenged" Day to day it will make a difference, I'm sure.

I've looked at the stock "headers" that came on various years (my son is a service manager at a Ford dealer, we've been thinking about headers for his Ranger with the big V6 and looking at other Ford V6s). None of them are really that good, sort of like the "headers" that come on C5 and C6 vettes: better than a cast iron manifold of old, but hardly the equal of a good, nadrel bent, long tube header with a good collector.
12ftlbs is average gain but higher in the rpms with LT's on the essex V6

the factory essex headers are quite good compared to stock 5.0 headers

that's why a 5.0 gains a bit more from good headers compared to the essex 3.8

Yes sir! Actually upon inspecting my car for the past couple of days it was smoking a bit so I checked it and my headers have a leak...gotta love MAC headers, but I can't complain I got them for $40 about 2 years ago haha.

So I am getting the JBA CHROME Headers for MY OWN Xmas gift...hey I work hard enough! LOL

On JBA it says about 40hp for supercharged applications....mooohahahahahah lol

I was wondering why headers on a v6 isnt a popular first mod.
I agree with you. It makes sence to do the intake and exhaust mods first. So what if headers only add a little hp. I don't think hp is the total objective. I think getting the engine in inhale and exhale is the objective. Or should be.
If your V6 is stock and you add headers then the hp gain is small. When you start adding UDPs, Turbo, Cam, SC or any number of other performance modifications then because you have headers your HP gain multiplies.
What happens though is IF you get the shortys then the catalic converts remain in most cases....IF you get long tube then you have to buy new converters and O2 sensor extensions if your car uses them.
Also in some states LT headers are illegal.
