Headers
It certainly makes sense, doesn't it. Headers are the first mod I'd make to just aobut any car.
Part of the reason may be that V6 owners aren't quite as performance-oriented as V8 owners. I'm sure that anyone who really craves performance tries to get a V8. Why those who can't (say, for insurance reasons) don't use headers as the first mod, I don't know, particularly sense it really works well, and its pretty easy to do on a V6 Mustang.

We tend to spend our money more wisely than V8 owners who alot of them don't know anymore about performance than a V6 owner
94-98's had 3 into 1 shortie headers stock like the JBA or MAC shorties.
99+'s had a log style header
both designs flow more than enough to support full bolt-ons and blowers too
some 94-95's had cast iron manifolds but were not common but still are adequate
aftermarket long tubes add the most but still not alot of power by any means. they do sound nice on the V6 though

M<aybe Lts add only 8 Hp, but they have to add more low end torque and that's waht a V6 needs -- its sort of "displacementally challenged" Day to day it will make a difference, I'm sure.
I've looked at the stock "headers" that came on various years (my son is a service manager at a Ford dealer, we've been thinking about headers for his Ranger with the big V6 and looking at other Ford V6s). None of them are really that good, sort of like the "headers" that come on C5 and C6 vettes: better than a cast iron manifold of old, but hardly the equal of a good, nadrel bent, long tube header with a good collector.
