But I'll graduate in 2 years, so its only 40K more I'll put on the car, plus I even have plans to rebuild the engine after I graduate. But yet again anther delima, the GT would only have 40-50K and the Cobra will have almost 100K but the Cobra will have parts for relativly cheap and by that time the new Cobra GT 500s will be out and there will be tons of the new stangs on the road and the sn95s will become a fewer and fewer and even the edge will start to loose its popularty due to the sands of time. So there is a couple of more things to debate on, popularty vs rebuild+more money and time in an old car.

Have you tried test driving either car? I think that will help you greatly with your decision.

I've ridden in an 05 and I practically drive a Cobra, only difference is my cars an auto, oh, and it doesn't have that bad A V8 with twin overhead cams, a wider intake with dual 65mm tb inlets, and not to mention, it comes eqiped with Borlas and a cai.

I would still get a test drive out of both, the supsenion is completely different on the gt and cobra i believe, plus you never know you might fall in love with the gt without knowing it by test driving it. I dunno really its up to you, but i think in your heart you set for the cobra, so you mine as well go for it.

Well it really is set on the Cobra, but I just want to know what you guys would do, yes the two years are very much different, but one, Ford won't let anybody around here just test drive a new GT unless they feel you are going to buy it, and I really don't feel like dealing with a salesman, It's already bad enough I am one. Secondly, there aren't many Cobra's around here, none the less any for sale, well except those that flooded during Katrina.

Okay... I'm going with the GT now. You have too much of a transit to school to have to worry about an old Cobra breaking down... plus it's had previous owners and it's hard to tell what they've done to it. Go with the brand new GT and mod the f*ck out of it!

the "Cobra" name turns more heads than "GT", but the 05 body style turns way more heads than the Sn95. Either way you'll end up with a great car, but you need to think about practicality. And if you get an 06, be sure to get a manual. I drove one... and my goddamn V6 now feels like a Civic.

Id definitly go for the 06 GT, the only thing that would make me lean towards the cobra would be the 06 suspension. i heard because of the new suspension they used to make it have more of an old school muscle car feel, its really rough and its not an ideal daily driver if you dont like a rough suspension. besides that just about everything that has been stated here would make me want to lean towards the GT. you (should) have it longer, no mileage to start, its a fresh car, very nice lookin, and ontop of that, it reacts better to mods than the sn-95's
