Which One?
sorry but I say go for the COBRA.
1. it had the power already in it, the 06 GT has it but the cobra owns everything.
2. you can add parts to it EASILY..the 05/06 parts are still coming out.
3. the potential of a cobra is UNLIKE ANY.
The 06 will always be there and its TWICE as much...enjoy the cobra for a while and get the 06 in 2-5 years hehe

i'd get the 05/06 GT. stock for stock, that 06 will take the 97 cobra. the 06 GT also has A LOT of potential and responds very well to mods. have you seen them things with supers? i was watching them tune one and they had it up to 480RWHP on a completely stock everything else! oh, and it was STILL making power at the redline (unlike my chitty 2v with a vortech)!
Man this is tough which one, the cheaper cobra which is now $10500 or the 25K GT, most of you guys are saying GT, but there are still a few saying Cobra, man which one.
Oh, screw the 07 Cobra, its nice and granted, its bad ***, but that 40K price sticker, or more like $35K doesn't look too inticing, not to mention that I really don't need 400+hp, like I said, 305, is a little more than I'm looking for, but I'm not going to complain. Oh and yes the new GTs respond extememly well to mods and so do Cobras, but most mods for a new GT cost 1/3 to 2 times as much as Cobra mods and add in the fact that all I'm going to change on the Cobra would be the cai and add in a mag x pipe, short shifter, if it doesn't already have one, a performance clutch and cable kit, and maybe a performance flywheel and 3.73 or 4.10 gears, and of course racing seats and I may remove the rear seats, that's it, well outside of small cosmettic upgrades, it already has a cai, but its butt ugly, and it has a mac h pipe[:'(], steda underdrive pullleys, gauge pillars, and like I said earlier, I think he installed a short shifter, but I can't exactly remember, Saleen rims, .05 tinted windows, Borla cats, and several other things. If I were to get a GT I would get a cai, tuner, mag x pipe, either, Borla, or mag cats, steeda pulleys, racing seats, possibly remove the rear seats, add in a short shifter, a performance cluth and cable kit, as well as possibly a performance fly wheel and 4.10 gears, see the Cobra already has a good head start there, but still, decisions, decisions.
Either way, the GT will cost way more, but will last longer before I would need to rebuild the engine, but still, rebuilding an older engine would still be way cheaper in the long run.

you need to stop making such long posts. i get bored after a few sentances.
would you rather have a brand new car or a used car. just ask yourself that. power wise, the 05 is actually better. actually, everything about the 05 is better than the 97 cobra. and how dare you say you don't NEED 400+HP. you're only saying that because you've never been in a car with that much power.

Well I don't, its not like I plan on racing the car, and remember, the more hp, the worst the gas millage, and I go roughly 600 miles a week, I don't want to contribute too much to those overseas oil rich arib bastards. Hey I like making long post, I enjoy watching you suffer though them.

I would go with the 05' GT.
I think you should get an 03' Cobra though. Its the same price as the 05' GT and it has a lot more HP. But then again, I wouldnt drive it for an everyday car like you want to. So just go with the 05' GT.

That's because you have a turbo, or a superchager, I can't exactly remember, so if you keep your *** driving like a normal person and don't floor it you'll get roughly the same milage as stock because your forced induction doesn't kick in until 3000+ rpms, yes I know its roughly the same with a 400 hp car, but its whole system performs better than yours or mine would, so it will burn a little more gas, well unless it has a form of forced induction, then it would be the same or close to a GT, but if I wanted to spend that much money, I'd get a Corvette, but like I said, I don't want, nor need a GT 500, although a 65-68 GT 500 wouln't be bad.
