another post that shows you don't know what you are talking about

Nitrous works the same way chemically as a blower. the introduction of more fuel and oxygen to the mix. the mechanics behind each are different but both do the same thing and both require proper tuning to work properly.

nitrous is no more tricky to tune than a blower or turbo

as i said before a 125 shot would be fine with a perfect tune but in reality a 100 shot would be a wise maximum on a stock engine

What is the biggest shot an almost stock 2000 V6 can handle
You're not allowed to get a 75 shot. If you do you'll be faster than I am.

Perhaps I'll have to get a 55 shot after I get my p28 and chip it.
Hmm 75 shot

that has in no way shown YOU (cobra232) that he has no idea what he is talking about its a damn CATCH PHRASE you wasn't trying to proof anything about his "knowledge" [sm=chairshot.gif]

errrr? how does nitrous work the same way as a blower when one is forcing like 8psi of air into the engine while the other is spray nitrous and fuel? if you get a good kit, you don't even need a tune. code3gt ran a 150 dry shot on his car untuned for over 2 years (125 with the 150 shot here and there actually). i've seen the local shop tune a basically stock 05 GT with a vortech on it and it wasn't anything like them tuning another car with nitrous. when i got there, they just started, when i left, they were on probably the 9th or 10th pull and still didn't have the AF right.

meh, anyway, i wouldn't put more than a 75 shot on that v6 engine though. this is the v6 section, not the 4.6

you always should tune nitrous or at least check the A/F levels. a tune may not be needed but to run any poweradder without a check for proper tune then adjusting as needed is dumb. i have done it too but it is plain dumb and you know it. i would never advise anybody putting any poweradder on without getting a dyno tune to ensure A/F is OK why waste an engine that will cost $1000+ to rebuild on a $450 nitrous kit. do it right and it will last.

yes a 75 shot is a wise and prudent choice but it doesn't mean you cant have detonation with it and will have detonation witha 100shot. you can have a perfectly fine 100-125 shot and a 50-75shot completely wreck an engine from melted pistons

nitrous works the same in the sense that it introduces more oxygen to the equation like a blower or turbo does. the more oxygen the more fuel can be used to make more power

yes the mechanics are different but the result is the same, which is the introduction of more fuel and air/oxygen into the engine

alot of guy's run a 100 shot on a stock 3.8 with no problems. in combustion nitrous releases it's oxygen and it used as extra catalyst for more fuel. blowers introduce more air to be used as catalyst for more fuel. chemically in the end they do the same thing. add more air/oxygen to support more fuel for more power.

but you already know this

blah blah blah. you can say all you want. nitrous doesn't work the same way as a super when adding anything to the engine. it's not going to change the fact that one is doing it with nitrous oxide and one is just blowing the air in. you keep contradicting yourself. you say they work the same, but do it differently.

oh, and if you look at the dry kit documentations, it actually tells you you don't need to get a tune.

and yes, i've read nitrous FAQs before, just like you obviously have.
