Well since we have nothing but post ****** here, I'm going to answere your question directly. First of all, I have a 98 as well, so I know what you are going though, but one thing, do you have an auto, or a manual? If you have an auto, getting any speed out of her will be hard, but not impossible. Now first things first. Get a cai and a set of uderdrive pulleys, they won't add but maybe 7-10 rwhp combined, but they do help throttle responce out a lot. Next get a dual exhaust system. Read the stickeys on this one, but I reccommend Magnaflows. They have a very deep sound for a V6, but be warned, they are rather loud, but they never really sound ricey, they'll just return your car to its stock sound in the upper revs, but it will be way louder. If you don't have the money for Mags, the Flowmaster or Pypes will be your next best bet, but for the love of God, stay away from Magnaflows Magnapacks, they sound ricey as hell on a six. Now after that mod, get a tuner, you can get one before the duals, but with a stock exhaust system your engines performance will still be rather restricted, you also run the risk of blowing a hole in your exhaust system, because those stock mufflers can only take so much. Now at this point its up to you. You'll be sitting at around 150-160 rwhp maybe a hair more, or a hair less. You could start to lighten the car which will increase accelleration and handling a bit, by removing the rear seat and adding in racing seats, or you could go and do a full engine upgrade by adding in an 80mm MAF, a 56mm throttle body, 24lb fuel injectors, getting a 56mm poort matched upper intake, a ported lower intake, port matched heads, and a performance camshaft. Supersixmotorsports.com sells this kit, and the performance gains you will get will be just a hair bit lower than that of a good T/C or S/C, but you will be running GT times with this mod and a manual tranny. You could also choose to add in a performance (2500 rpm stall) torque converter and a shif kit if you have a auto, or you could do the performance clutch, cable, and flywheel kit if you have a manual. Oh also, change out those gears to 3.73s or 4.10s and add in a T-Lok, sorry, forgot about this mod, but do this either, before or right after you decide to do a weight reduction mod or an engine upgrade mod. This should be enough to hold you over for a while.[8D]
